The Christian Church in the West is in decline. There’s no rebutting that. America is a post-Christian nation and is considered by many across the world to be a mission field; a great number of missionaries come to America to spread the Gospel.
Many denominations spend considerable time and resources hiring consultants to rebrand their image and the image of their local churches. My own denomination is on the second round of such a venture in 20 years. One church, just up the road an hour, rebranded a couple times, and then closed its doors.
Why do so few churches spend time reaching the lost and disciplining new Christians. Luke tells us (in Acts 9:31)that the early church found peace and edification because it feared God and sought the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
The Christian Church in America does not need a new image, marketing schemes, and highly paid consultants. It needs to seek the face of God.
