At times, no matter how much time we spend in prayer, no matter how much time we spend ministering to others, we feel like we are alone, acting in vain. It seems, sometimes, that we are the only person in a cold and barren landscape. If we don’t die of loneliness, we fear dying of exposure or exhaustion. We cry out to God, but we fear He does not listen. Where is He? Where am I?
The prophet, Daniel, was given a vision that frightened him. He, too, felt fear. Then he heard words from the Lord that should be a comfort to us all.
Do fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard… Daniel 10:12 NKJV
Because God is no respect of persons, this promise also applies to you and I. From the minute we set our heart to understand God’s Word, and humbled ourselves before God, He has heard us.
Fear not, for God hears us.
