Isaiah assures us that God never tires; He never grows weary. The young grow tired. Strong men collapse with exhaustion, but our God never wavers. He never faints. He never grows weary, declares the prophet Isaiah.
There is no one who can fully discern Him and His plans, no one who can understand His ways. His love for us, us who are His creation… His overwhelming care for us, His children… defies all logic. We are entirely unworthy of His love. Yet, He cares enough for us to have given His son to die in our place. He gave that which knows no sin to die for those who are sinners.
He strengthens those who diligently seek to serve Him. He gives power to the faint. He gives strength to those who have no might. They that wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings of eagles.
Eagles are remarkable birds. Incredibly strong, an eagle which has an adult weight of 8-14 pounds can lift half again its body weight. Its mighty wings, with a span of up to eight feet, can lift its own weight and the weight of a good sized fish or rodent. When God says that those who wait upon Him shall mount up with wings as eagles, He is telling you that He will give you the strength to lift yourself from your present circumstances, and the strength to help others up, also.
The eagle’s wings take it to unprecedented heights, as well. Eagles have been documented to fly as high as 10-15,000 feet, and some speculate that they can fly up to 30,000 feet. They fly alone, leaving all other birds well below. Only the eagle can fly that high. The life of following Christ and continuous prayer will take the believer to unbelievable heights.
Fear Not, rather mount up with wings as an eagle.
